The African Women Awards (Africa 100 Most Influential Women Awards) is one of Africa’s premier platforms for recognizing and celebrating exceptional women whose leadership, innovation, entrepreneurship, professional excellence and social impact are shaping the future of the continent.
As we host the 5th African Women Awards 2026, we reaffirm our commitment to ensuring that recognition serves as a catalyst for growth, investment and long-term business success. While the Awards honour outstanding achievements, they also provide an opportunity to connect Africa’s most influential women with strategic partners capable of accelerating their personal, professional and business aspirations.
Over the years, our engagement with women entrepreneurs, corporate executives, business leaders, innovators, professionals and public sector leaders across Africa has revealed several common challenges. These include the need for affordable working capital, growth financing, access to investment capital, stronger corporate partnerships, regional and international market opportunities, professional advisory services and sustainable succession planning.
Recognizing these needs, the African Women Awards Secretariat is establishing strategic partnerships with financial institutions, development finance organizations, venture capital firms, private equity investors, multinational corporations, export promotion agencies and professional advisory firms across Africa and internationally.
These partnerships are designed to provide our award recipients with privileged access to financial solutions, investment opportunities, business networks and professional services that support business expansion, innovation and sustainable growth.

THE RATIONALE
Over the past two decades, affirmative action towards ensuring gender equality and providing support for the social and economic empowerment has been on the rise all around the world, Africa inclusive. Indeed, because of the predominant cultural practices hitherto rife across most of Africa which have restrained its female populace from achieving anywhere near their full potentials, the continent requires such affirmative action more than any other part of the world.
Consequently our awards scheme sets out to draw attention to the capabilities of African women when released from their societal leash, and the positive impacts they can have on the continent’s socio-economic growth and development. This we seek to achieve by identifying and recognizing the feats of a collection of exemplary African women from all around the continent, who would consequently be positioned as models for the rest of the female populace to emulate. To this end we would subsequently promote them and facilitate deliberate contributions by them as an organized, formal grouping, to Africa’s ongoing socioeconomic renaissance.
